Lawrence Jean is a career banker having joined the banking industry 31 years ago. His banking experience spans from retail to offshore to investment banking. Having been licensed by the Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission in 2003 to carry out security business in the Eastern Caribbean Securities market, Lawrence has been instrumental in a number of capital and debt raising initiatives in the market. Some such initiatives are the Additional Public offering of shares by East Caribbean Financial Holdings and the Bank of Nevis, the buyback of shares and rights issue of Republic Bank (Grenada) Ltd, divestment of shares by respective governments in Bank of St. Vincent & the Grenadines and more recently West Indies Oil Company Limited.
Lawrence has also been instrumental in arranging debt securities for a number of governments in the ECCU, both on the Regional Government Securities Market and via private placement, where an amount of over $900 million in debt securities are currently being managed. Lawrence holds a master’s degree in Finance with the University of Leicester and currently serves as the Manager of the Investment Banking Services, the securities brokerage arm of Bank of Saint Lucia Ltd.
